This section contains information on domestic violence crimes that were submitted by county and local municipalities and are aggregated to a statewide view. The accuracy of this information is solely dependent upon the reporting agencies and may not contain all crimes that occurred. For purposes of this report, domestic violence is indicated when the relationship of the victim and offender is husband, wife, common-law spouse, ex-husband, ex-wife, girlfriend, boy-friend, ex-girlfriend, or ex-boyfriend. The FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting Program transitioned from the Summary Reporting System (SRS) to the National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) in 2020. During this transition, certain counties and municipalities have had issues submitting this data. This section contains only the data that has been submitted so far.
